Condolence Tribute: Honoring Pastor Joshua R. Rene
It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the death of Pastor Joshua R. Rene, a beloved church leader and community figure in Palm Beach County. Pastor Rene, age 39, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2025, near South Congress Avenue in Lake Worth. Despite wearing a helmet, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His sudden passing, just days before Thanksgiving, has left his family, congregation, and community devastated.
Pastor Rene was more than a spiritual leader; he was a man of compassion, gratitude, and unwavering faith. As the Executive Pastor at Journey Church, he dedicated his life to uplifting others, offering guidance, and embracing everyone as family. His warmth and joyful spirit were evident in every interaction, and his ability to see the good in people left a lasting impact. Congregants recall his laughter, his encouragement, and his constant reminder to live with gratitude. Born in Rochester, New York, and later making his home in Boynton Beach, Florida, Pastor Rene studied philosophy and religion at Liberty University. His journey of faith led him to serve not only at Journey Church but also through Adventures in Missions and World Race, where he touched lives across communities and borders. Beyond his ministry, he was a musician, a husband to Briana Rene, and a friend to many.
The tragedy of his death is felt deeply, but his legacy of love and service will continue to shine. On Wednesday, Journey Church opened its doors to those grieving, offering a space to share memories and find comfort. Stories of his kindness and selflessness filled the room, reminding all that his light will never be extinguished.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pastor Rene’s wife Briana, his family, his congregation, and all who loved him. May you find strength in one another, peace in cherished memories, and comfort in knowing that his spirit will remain with you always.
Rest in peace, Pastor Joshua R. Rene. Your life was a blessing, your ministry a gift, and your memory eternal.
