Obituary: Theron James Bennett — Gulf War Veteran and Beloved Community Member
Theron James Bennett of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on November 17 after a long and courageous battle with cirrhosis of the liver and congestive heart failure. A Gulf War veteran, Theron carried the discipline and quiet dignity of his service into every aspect of his life. He was known for a ready smile, a quick wit, and a generosity of spirit that made him a cherished friend and colleague.
As a devoted father, Theron placed family at the center of his world. He took pride in his children’s accomplishments and found joy in everyday moments—coaching little league, sharing stories at the dinner table, and offering steady support through life’s challenges. His warmth and humor created a welcoming presence that drew people to him and sustained friendships across generations.
Theron’s work at the Tire Barn reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to community. Customers and coworkers remember him as dependable, patient, and always willing to lend a hand. He mentored younger employees, shared practical advice, and treated everyone with respect. Those small acts of care and professionalism left a lasting impression on the people he served.
His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of family, friends, and neighbors. To honor his service and life, a fundraiser has been established to assist with final arrangements and to ensure he receives a dignified burial at Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions will help the family provide the farewell Theron deserves and recognize his service to country.
We extend our deepest condolences to Theron’s family. May you find comfort in cherished memories, strength in one another, and peace in knowing his legacy of kindness and service will endure. Friends and neighbors are invited to share remembrances and support the family; details about memorial services will be announced by the family when available.
